The Company
Voith Turbo Limited is the regional headquarters for Voith Turbo GmbH & Co KG, a division of Voith AG in Heidenheim, Germany. Voith Turbo Limited is marketing products and services of its parent firm, including automatic transmissions for buses and trucks, hydraulic retarders, universal joint shafts, hydraulic couplings and turbo- transmissions for rail vehicles. Voith Turbo Limited is also responsible for trading of various products in related industries.
Voith was founded in 1867 in Heidenheim/Brenz, Germany, and has grown into a group of companies with worldwide activities in the development, design, manufacture and sale of paper-making machinery, water turbine and power transmitting components. With a turnover of approximately Euro 3.2 billion and over 24,000 employees, Voith is one of the world's leading engineering companies. For over 130 years, pioneering technical achievements have been inseparably connected with the name of Voith: paper machines that set new world records, turbines for the world's largest hydro power plants, state-of-the-art drive systems for buses, railcars and ships.
The Voith Group of Companies embodies the four Corporate Divisions Voith Paper, Voith Fabrics Paper Machine Clothing, Voith Turbo Power Transmission and Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation. Voith is represented in all major international markets with production companies and marketing outlets all over the world. The Holding Company, Voith AG, is located in Heidenheim at the river Brenz in the eastern part of the German Federal State of Baden-Wuerttemberg.
Voith Turbo Limited was established in Hong Kong in 1985 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Voith Turbo GmbH, providing after-sales service to local customers, such as public transport operators or the electric power-generating companies, and coordinates marketing activities in East Asia. Growth in demand for Voith products has been steady since the commencement of activities, and this trend is expected to continue. In the geographical area allocated to Voith Turbo Limited liaison work has resulted in the establishment of additional Voith subsidiaries in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, Taiwan, and China, thus strengthening the group's sales network in those countries. Voith power transmitting engineering products have become standard equipment for buses, railcars, locomotives, electric power plants, steel mills and many other fields of industrial application in East Asia.
